Śrī Kṛṣṇa

Every other realm on this chart — Vaikuṇṭha's majesty, Maheśa-dhāma's threshold, the material universes — is described here as radiating outward from this one point. Fixing Kṛṣṇa's position at the center first is what makes every other realm's position make sense.

Lalitā

She's often described as the most outspoken of the eight — proof that closeness to Kṛṣṇa doesn't require constant deference.

Viśākhā

She represents the friendship that holds a secret without needing to ask why — a specific, recognizable kind of trust.

Citrā

Her role suggests devotion expressed through making things beautiful, not only through feeling or service.

Campakalatikā

Her name itself suggests a quieter kind of presence — one that lingers rather than demands attention.

Tuṅgavidyā

Her presence in this circle argues that devotion and intellect were never meant to be rivals.

Indulekhā

She represents a softer kind of light — present, but not overpowering the scene she's part of.

Raṅgadevī

Her role treats joy itself as a form of service, not just a byproduct of it.

Sudevī

Her contribution is constancy itself — showing up reliably, without needing a more dramatic role.

Three Divisions of Kṛṣṇaloka

Naming the three as moods rather than places is what keeps the chart from being read as a travel map — Gokula, Mathurā, and Dvārakā are three ways Kṛṣṇa is met, not three points anyone moves between.

Concentric Dhāmas around Śvetadvīpa

It shows the tradition distinguishes between "mood" (the Gokula/Mathurā/Dvārakā of feeling) and "place" (this concentric geography) — two different kinds of map layered on the same territory.

Navadvīpa

Putting Navadvīpa on the same lotus's outer petals says Caitanya's openness isn't a separate revelation from Goloka's intimacy — it is that intimacy turned outward, made shareable through the holy name.

Baladeva / Balarāma

Baladeva is why the chart can call Goloka a living reality rather than a landscape: the mood of service is what holds the realm ready for Kṛṣṇa's pastimes, the way Ananta Śeṣa is said to bear the worlds.

Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī

Rādhā is why the chart's center reads as love and not rank — she is the tradition's image of devotion so complete it becomes the standard every other kind of love is measured against.

Catur-vyūha

The same four names recur in Śvetadvīpa and inside Vaikuṇṭha because the chart is tracing one continuous principle, not four unrelated deities — creation, maintenance, and dissolution are functions of a single source, not separate powers competing for the role.

Six-cornered Yogapīṭha

Drawing the center as a six-cornered figure rather than a point is the chart's way of saying the middle isn't just where things converge — it is a constructed sacred space, a yantra, with its own inside.

The Goloka Lotus

This is the one image the whole site keeps returning to — every realm's position, every chapter's next stop, gets its bearings from this same lotus.

Śvetadvīpa

The four sections are correspondences, not districts — reading them as places (a northern country, a southern one) misses that the chart is using one square to hold divine forms, Vedas, and human aims at once.

Śvetadvīpa Symbolic Features

The chart could have left Śvetadvīpa an unmarked square. Adding tridents, treasures, protectors, and colors says the tradition wants this realm read as complete and guarded, not as an empty diagram waiting to be filled in.

Vraja / Gokula Landscape

Naming the cows, the hill, the river and the groves is the chart's way of refusing to treat them as backdrop — each stands for a devotional mood (friendship, parental love, romantic love) the tradition wants held as fully real.

Vaikuṇṭha / Hari-dhāma

If Goloka could make the spiritual world sound like it's only about one intimate circle, Vaikuṇṭha corrects that: majesty on this scale — worlds beyond counting, each one whole — is just as real a way of relating to God as intimacy is. The chart needs both registers, and so, the tradition says, do we.

Eight Lakṣmī-related Potencies

Eight distinct qualities, not one generic "grace" — power described this precisely resists being flattened into a vague blessing.

Further Vaikuṇṭha Guardians

Eight further guardians hold the intermediate directions beyond the four main gates — the city's protection isn't limited to its formal entrances; every direction of approach has someone watching.

Seven Vaikuṇṭha Circles

The ordering is the teaching: the closer to center, the more personal and specific; the farther out, the more general. Divinity doesn't get vaguer as you scale up — it gets more particular as you get closer.

Four Vaikuṇṭha Gates

Jaya and Vijaya's story especially — cursed for blocking entry, reborn as adversaries, eventually restored — shows the tradition takes its own gatekeepers seriously enough to give them consequences, not just decorative titles.

Central Vaikuṇṭha City

Tying the eight-petalled plan to the Gāyatrī mantra is the diagram's actual claim: the city's layout is meant to be read as a form of the mantra, not as architecture that happens to be described in detail.

Maheśa-dhāma / Śiva-dhāma

It's the chart's admission that not everything sits neatly inside “spiritual” or “material.” Śiva gets a threshold of his own precisely because his role — governing material dissolution while remaining, in this tradition, a great Vaiṣṇava himself — doesn't fit cleanly on either side of the line.

Brahmajyotir

This is the chart's answer to a real fork in the tradition — some paths stop at formless light and call it liberation; the Gauḍīya reading treats that light as real but incomplete, an invitation to keep going rather than an arrival.

Virajā River / Causal Boundary

It's the chart's most literal answer to “where does the spiritual world end and the material one start” — an actual boundary, not just a metaphor, even though nothing about it can be reached by ordinary travel.

Mahat-tattva, Pradhāna, and Prakṛti

The chart gives matter an origin and an internal structure so it can't be read as a second reality standing outside the divine order — even the causal principles sit inside the diagram, below the boundary, not beyond it.

Fourteen Planetary Systems

It refuses the flat idea that "the material world" is one undifferentiated place — even matter has its own internal hierarchy, without any of it being outside the system entirely.

Devī-dhāma

Every earlier chapter describes somewhere else. This one describes where the reader is actually reading from — which is why the site's own return path starts here and works backward toward Kṛṣṇa, not the other way around.

Kūrma, Ananta Śeṣa, and Dik-gajas

In the chart's traditional support imagery, it shows the material universe isn't self-supporting — even its physical stability rests on a form of the Lord holding it up.

Jīva, Bondage, and Bhakti

It's the reason the rest of the chart matters at all — a map of realms only means something if there's a traveler who can actually move through them, and bhakti is the tradition's account of how that movement happens.

Universal Coverings

Each covering is traditionally ten times thicker than the one inside it — scaled from the inner universe's own roughly 4-billion-mile span, that puts the earth covering alone at about 40 billion miles thick, water beneath it ten times that again, and so on outward. The material universe this chart maps is a single grain wrapped in layers vaster than itself, inside a sky with room for uncountable other universes just like it.

Bhū-maṇḍala

It's the chart's only zone that places ordinary human life on the map at all — everywhere else here is a realm beyond material experience, but Bhārata-varṣa inside Bhū-maṇḍala is where the tradition says the reader of this chart is actually standing.

Ayodhyā

Śrī Rāma's own realm, marked as complete in itself rather than folded into another

Kṛṣṇa's Divine Forms

It answers a question the vertical chart can't: if Kṛṣṇa is one person, how does the tradition also describe dozens of named forms and incarnations? The genealogy shows expansion without division — within Gauḍīya theology, each form is understood as fully Him, not a fragment.

Five Rasas

It reframes everything else: the same Kṛṣṇa is approached in genuinely different modes, and none of the five is a lesser version of another.

Manvantara Avatāras

It extends the avatāra concept across cosmic time rather than just cosmic space — each age has its own Manu and its own corresponding descent, the same pattern of divine involvement repeating at a different scale.

Twenty-four Viṣṇu Forms

The forms are traditionally distinguished by different arrangements of the conch, discus, club, and lotus. Add exact hand-position data only after checking the intended chart panel or source edition.

The Eight Sakhīs

Naming all eight rather than labelling them 'the eight sakhīs' and moving on is deliberate — the ring closest to Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa is the chart's image of intimacy, and intimacy here is specific: these names, these temperaments.

Kāraṇa / Causal Ocean

The source the material creation as a whole rests in, distinct from the many individual universes it gives rise to

Māyā

Names who actually governs the material world's difficulty, and clarifies she isn't a rival force acting outside the Lord's authority

Prema

Names what the entire journey through this chart is actually for, not just where it leads

Durgā

Material nature is shown as governed, not chaotic or ownerless — by a power dignified enough to carry her own detailed iconography, not just implied by what's absent from the spiritual world.

Yaśodā

She's the tradition's clearest picture of vātsalya-rasa — proof, in the chart's own logic, that intimacy with the divine doesn't require constant awareness of majesty.

Nanda Mahārāja

He shows that Goloka's devotional grammar is domestic and communal as much as royal or cosmic — a household elder matters here as much as any king.

The Cowherd Friends (Sakhās)

They make sākhya-rasa concrete — Kṛṣṇa loved not as a distant sovereign but as a friend who can be raced, teased, and shared a meal with.

Mañjarīs

They show devotion that seeks no center of its own — service so unobtrusive it becomes a form of love rather than a claim to attention.

Dvārakā

The chart already names Dvārakā as one of Kṛṣṇa's own three līlā divisions; this fills in what that name is pointing to — a fully royal, majestic manifestation of the same person Vraja knows as a cowherd.

Kailāsa / Śivaloka

It keeps this chart honest about its own scope — Maheśa-dhāma is one lineage's threshold-placement of Śiva, not a complete account of what Śiva means within his own tradition.
