Mañjarīs

In later GauḍīyaGauḍīyaGOW-dee-yuhThe Bengal Vaiṣṇava tradition founded on Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu's teachings. devotional practice, mañjarīs are imagined as Rādhā's youngest attendants — close enough to assist in her most intimate moments with Kṛṣṇa, but oriented entirely toward her happiness rather than their own. A mañjarī is a flower bud: near the blossom, carrying its fragrance, without trying to become it. This is a devotional emphasis particular to later Gauḍīya practice, not a framework shared identically across every VaiṣṇavaVaiṣṇavaVYSH-nuh-vuhA devotee or tradition centered on Viṣṇu/Kṛṣṇa as the Supreme. tradition.
