The soul's own path
The Way Home
The Way Home / Jīva's Return
Not a place on the chart, but the path every place was pointing toward.
The Way Home isn't a sixth realm on the chart. It's the soul's own path back to loving service, running through everything above it.
Visual legend
- The haṁsa
- The , the individual soul, in flight along its own path home.
- The winding path
- Material identification (deep indigo) rising toward loving service (warm gold).
- The faint rings
- Thresholds crossed along the way — not solid barriers.
- The point of light
- Kṛṣṇa, the one place the whole return keeps moving toward.
The return path
The same realms already on this chart, retraced in reverse. Not a new place, a way of reading the chart from where you are back toward Kṛṣṇa.
- Devī-dhāmaThe return begins exactly where the jīva already stands — not by leaving the material world, but by recognizing how much of what feels like all of reality is really only a temporary, conditioned slice of something larger.
- VirajāThe same causal boundary that first let the jīva drift outward now has to be crossed again, retraced back toward the spiritual sky it descended from.
- BrahmajyotirThis is real realization of the Absolute, not a lesser stop — but Gauḍīya theology asks the jīva to stay curious one layer deeper, toward a Bhagavān with form, qualities, and companions of His own.
- VaikuṇṭhaContinuing on, the path reaches Vaikuṇṭha, where reverence comes first: aiśvarya, awe at the Lord's majesty, a mood the tradition insists is already complete in itself.
- GolokaThe path's innermost point is Goloka itself, Kṛṣṇa's own eternal home, where reverence deepens into mādhurya — intimate relationship, with room enough for beauty and variety that nothing about it stays empty.
Every realm on this chart, all the way down to Devī-dhāma, exists for the sake of one thing: the jīva, the individual conscious self standing at the center of the whole picture. In the material world the jīva is conditioned by karma, by time, and by the three guṇas, mistaking a temporary position for its actual identity.
Gauḍīya bhakti names the way back: not only freedom from matter, but restored loving service to Bhagavān, cultivated through hearing, chanting, remembering, worship, and nāma-saṅkīrtana. The descent through this chart was never only a map of places. It was always, underneath, a map of the way home.

Common confusions
This is a sixth realm, a final destination somewhere beyond Devī-.
It isn't a place on the chart at all. It's a guided learning path retracing the same realms already on the chart, in reverse, to explain the soul's devotional return, not a new cosmic location.
The return path should mirror the descent exactly, so Maheśa- belongs in it too.
Maheśa- is placed on the chart as a boundary domain to the side of Hari-dhāma, not a settled stop on the direct devotional path back to Godhead, so this path doesn't retrace it.

Where are you right now in the move from material identification to loving service?
The chart ends here. The path it was describing doesn't; it only turns homeward.
