End of Kārtika
Kārtika Pūrṇimā / Rāsa Pūrṇimā
Dates follow the Māyāpur (India) reckoning, the base of most published Vaiṣṇava calendars. The tradition sets each day by the tithi present at local sunrise, so your own date may fall a day earlier or later — see the calendar for your city.
The full moon of Kārtika closes the month's observances. It carries several associations — the completion of the Dāmodara-vrata, a second Rāsa Pūrṇimā, and in some Purāṇic accounts the appearance of Matsya, the fish form. In it is marked with lamps set floating on the water.
