Disappearance of Śrīla Prabhupāda

Prabhupāda left the world at Vṛndāvana in November 1977, having in twelve years established the tradition's worldwide institutional presence and left behind a large body of translation and commentary. The day is kept across communities. His editions of the Bhāgavatam, the Gītā and the are among the sources cited throughout this site.
