Appearance of Nityānanda Prabhu

This day marks the appearance of Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu in Ekacakra, Bengal. theology identifies him with Balarāma, Kṛṣṇa's elder brother and first expansion — the figure the chart places immediately beside Kṛṣṇa as the source of the whole series of divine forms. In Caitanya's movement, Nityānanda is remembered as the one who carried the holy name to the people least likely to receive it.
